OUR DIRECTOR
Our Company Director has an in depth knowledge of the challenges of Legal Aid costing and gets things done!
Coralie completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Cardiff University and particularly excelled in the Solicitors Accounts Modules. In 2011 she decided to train as a Law Costs Draftsperson. Coralie was motivational in pushing for more modern approaches to drafting including the use of electronic files. Her attention to detail, efficiency and "can-do" attitude was soon noticed by clients. Coralie was then approached to consult with one of the largest Legal Aid providers in London to manage all of their Legal Aid High Cost Cases and taking part in the "Events" pilot scheme. This involved training staff, setting up processes and policy documents, as well as the management of over £1,000,000 costs.
In 2016, Coralie then took on a new challenge working inhouse for a local firm of solicitors. Coralie began working as a temp but was quickly promoted to Billing Manager. Coralie was able to turn around a struggling billing department, clearing a backlog of work, liaising with the Legal Aid Agency and the Courts. Coralie is adept at setting up simple but effective processes to maintain good cashflow. Coralie also trained as a Mental Health First Aider and had an open door policy to anyone struggling in the workplace. Coralie also contributed ideas to help combat workplace stress and promote staff wellbeing.
Always wanting a new challenge, Coralie joined a national cost drafting company applying her expertise to a broader range of Legal Aid drafting and VHCCs for one of the UK's largest Legal Aid providers. Within weeks of starting her new employment, Coralie also contributed to designing and implementing a CCFS billing manual and policy.
Coralie's reputation forgetting things done and her knowledge of Legal Aid matters led to a local firm approaching her for drafting services and so Blaen Bran Consulting was born.
Coralie is also a Mental Health First Aider and a BACP registered Counsellor& Psychotherapist. Coralie can provide training for workplace mental health and wellbeing, Vicarious Trauma and inclusivity for neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ workforces.
